Phlebotomy services are available at Southampton General, Lymington, Romsey and Royal South Hants hospitals.

Romsey phlebotomy closure from 23 January 2026

We can confirm that we will be closing the Romsey phlebotomy service on 23 January 2026.

We understand this decision, which follows discussion with our partners in community and primary care across the area, will cause upset for residents who regularly use this service. Read more about the decision here.

Please book your appointments after 23 January 2026 at the Royal South Hants, Southampton General Hospital or Lymington. For a shorter wait for your blood test, the Royal South Hants has lots of availability. This is a purpose built facility which offers an improved experience for our patients with longer opening hours and the ability to print your blood test forms for you.

Royal South Hants Hospital

  • Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm

Lymington Hospital

  • Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 5pm

Romsey Hospital (until 23 January 2026)

  • Tuesday, 9am to 3pm
  • Friday, 9am to 3pm
  • Saturday, 9am to 1pm

If your first choice of location for your blood test does not have any appointments, please try a second location which may have more choice.
