Rheumatology
Our rheumatology department provides services for patients with musculoskeletal diseases, pain syndromes and complex chronic inflammatory diseases, including
- diseases of the bone
- non-inflammatory musculoskeletal pain
- inflammation of joints and soft tissues
- systemic inflammatory diseases.
We work closely with other departments and services to make sure you get the best care possible.
Research
As a patient, you will also have the opportunity to take part in research at the Southampton Musculoskeletal Research Unit - a platform for musculoskeletal research in Southampton.
In addition, the metabolic bone clinic is closely connected with the academic programme led by Professor Cyrus Cooper at the MRC Lifecourse Epidemiology Centre.
For information about studies currently taking place, please speak to a member of the rheumatology team.
