Meller House is a unique facility that provides comfortable accommodation for the relatives of patients at UHS who are in hospital a long way from home, or in an emergency situation.

We aim to provide a home from home environment that gives guests an opportunity to relax, whilst having the reassurance of being very close to the main hospital buildings.

There is a subsides charge (see below) for relatives to stay in the accommodation, which enable us to maintain Meller House with the help of Southampton Hospitals Charity.

Nightly charge of £40 per room per night for a twin-bedded room and £50 for the family room per night, all prices are subject to change, and to be reviewed on the 31 March 2026.

The accommodation is made up of:

8 twin bedded rooms with en-suite shower rooms
1 family room with three beds and/or cot with separate bathroom
2 lounges with televisions
A large kitchen - for preparation of light snacks and drinks only - tea, coffee and sugar is provided
A utility room with a washing machine and tumble dryer
Free car parking
Wi-fi
Enclosed garden

Please note that we do not accept advance bookings, as this is an emergency accommodation. Children under sixteen must be accompanied by an adult.

Meller House is located adjacent to the hospital grounds. The route is well signposted and lit at night. When registering, security will provide you with a map and directions.
