Clothes bank for patients

The clothes bank provides warm and clean clothing for patients to go home in.

Where possible, patients are encouraged to ask relatives to bring in clothes for them. If this isn't possible, a member of staff will contact the clothes bank and make arrangements.

Donating second-hand clothes

The clothes bank can only provide clothing to patients through generous donations.

Please help us maintain this service by donating clean, loose-fitting clothes such as:

  • Jumpers
  • T-shirts
  • Trousers
  • Shorts
  • Dresses
  • Skirts
  • Jogging bottoms

All items need to be clean and in a good state of repair. We cannot accept underwear, shoes, coats or any sequined or sparkly tops.

You can donate clothes by bringing them to the patient and family support hub, located on B Level in the Feast restaurant (Southampton General Hospital), open 9.30am to 4pm Monday to Friday, excluding bank holidays. For more information about the clothes bank, call 0800 484 0135 or email PFSH@uhs.nhs.uk.

Clothing can also be donated to our community clothes donation point, Adjustamatic Beds, 280 Winchester Road, Southampton, SO16 6YD, open 9.30am to 5.30pm, Monday to Saturday.
