Hollywood star brings joy to patients and staff at University Hospital Southampton

Patients, their families and staff at University Hospital Southampton (UHS) enjoyed a surprise visit from Hollywood actor and musician Jamie Campbell Bower, who spent time meeting people across the hospital and bringing smiles to wards throughout the day.

Best known for his roles in Stranger Things and Twilight, and about to hit our screens in The Lord of The Rings: The Rings of Power, Jamie visited UHS to say thank you to the hospital that cared for his father in 2022.

He spent time on several wards, speaking with patients, their loved ones and members of staff. The day included stops at the children's wards E1 Ocean, Piam Brown and the Teenage Cancer Unit, where he chatted with young patients and their families, signed posters and posed for photographs.

Jamie also took part in an interactive question and answer session, sharing stories from his acting career and answering questions about his work in film and television.

The visit provided a memorable moment for patients and staff, who were delighted by the opportunity to meet the actor in person.
