WISH is organised around four cores, described below, however we have the flexibility and expertise to cover any field or research question within our capabilities, and to discuss joint work to expand these capabilities to meet your needs.
We have extensive experience in cancer immunotherapy therapeutic and endpoint assay development, alongside wider immunological expertise across body systems and disease areas. Our services include immunoassays, ELISPOT, flow cytometric immune-phenotyping and cell sorting, tissue dissociation and cell culture, as well as digital pathology and molecular sequencing.
For studies demanding analysis of the microbiome we provide cell culture, molecular analysis and sequencing services. Additionally, for studies of respiratory infection we can draw on the specialist human challenge, bronchoscopy, lung function and sputum induction facilities of the NIHR Southampton Clinical Research Facility.
Combining our next generation sequencing services and clinical chemistry assays with our other cores enables the application of truly stratified strategies for discovery and trialling in complex conditions such as cancer and rare diseases.
Southampton is home to the national hub for translational nutrition research, the NIHR Southampton Biomedical Research Centre. WISH has integrated BRC expertise and capabilities into its nutrition and metabolism laboratory, with a portfolio of standardised nutrient and metabolite assays that can be used for patient phenotyping.
