Dr Basarab has worked for the Trust since March 1994, and is the clinical lead for the department of infection.

The department of infection provides a clinical and diagnostic service to the Trust and its surrounding population. Dr Basarab’s areas of interest are surgical infection, infections in immuno-compromised patients, and antimicrobial management (Dr Basarab is co-founder of the antimicrobial management team).
