We're committed to providing the very best care for our patients. Part of this involves active recruitment into research and clinical trials.
Many patients undergoing surgery have tissue taken for the tissue bank. We've published some research based on archival tissue and hope the results will help us to understand prognosis for patients with NETs better. We're planning more archival tissue research over the next three years trying to identify groups of NET patients who are more likely to benefit from immunotherapy.
Patients are also invited to participate in open national and international clinical trials, helping the development of new treatments. To find out about current and planned clinical trials, please visit NCRI - select 'upper gastro-intestinal cancer' and then 'Map B - Neuroendocrine'.
Follow the NCRI link for more information on the clinical trials - including inclusion and exclusion details. Where available, links to the clinicaltrials.gov database are also provided.
