I am a passionate and dedicated individual with a vibrant, bubbly personality, always striving to give my best in everything I do. As a Youth Ambassador for UHS, I have developed strong leadership and communication skills, engaging with diverse groups and helping shape positive change.
Meeting new people and building connections is something I truly enjoy, and I am eager to bring fresh perspectives and enthusiasm to the role of associate governor. With a keen interest in pursuing a future career in paediatrics, I am committed to supporting the growth and well-being of our community’s children and youth.

- Emily Reed
Associate Governor
I am 18 years old and currently training as a nurse. My first-hand experiences as a patient have given me insight into the realities of hospital care and inspired me to pursue a career in healthcare.
Alongside my studies, I am a dancer and an active member of Girlguiding, where I have developed leadership skills, teamwork, and a strong sense of community.
I wanted to become an Associate Governor to contribute both as a patient and as a future healthcare professional. I am particularly keen to ensure that the voices of young people and those with lived experience are heard.
I feel privileged to have been appointed as an Associate Governor of University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust and look forward to supporting its vital work for patients, families, and the wider community.
