Our team is made up of consultants, therapeutic radiographers and various support staff.Consultants
Our clinical oncology consultants are responsible for prescribing your radiotherapy treatment.
Therapeutic radiographers
Therapeutic radiographers operate the radiotherapy equipment during your visits. They review your images and are responsible for the safe and accurate delivery of your treatment. They will meet you daily and can answer questions about your treatment and the procedures involved.
Advanced practitioners
These are radiographers who have developed knowledge and expertise in specific areas. They are closely involved in your treatment pathway and will often be the point of contact if you require support during your treatment.
Support staff
Our therapeutic radiographers and oncologists are supported by a team of staff, including healthcare assistants, radiotherapy physicists, dosimetrists (who draw up your treatment plan) and admin staff.
Everyone has an important role to play in your treatment.
We are also a large teaching hospital and therefore therapeutic radiography students and apprentices are often present during your visits with us.
