Dr Pietropaolo is involved with the European Association of Urology (EAU) and with the University of Southampton where she actively contributes in teaching, workshops, training, classes and academic research. She is invited as faculty in multiple courses and national or international meetings.

Experience

Dr Pietropaolo, working as a consultant from 2023 onwards, specialises in endourology with special interest kidney stones treatment. She performs ureteroscopy, PCNL, shockwave lithotripsy and minimally invasive surgery.

Dr Pietropaolo treats mainly kidney stones and upper tract urothelial cancer. This is done with minimally invasive techniques which are endoscopic and carried out though natural ways rather than key hole or open. We use laser to break the stones and remove them actively. We also offer extracorporeal shockwave lithotripsy of kidney stones and percutaneous treatment of the largest stones.

Dr Pietropaolo also carries out outpatient clinics and smaller outpatient procedures under local anaesthesia such as botox injection, stent changes, bladder stones removal, suprapubic catheter insertion.

Research

Dr Pietropaolo is very active in research and contributing in evolving the field of urology thanks to research and publications. Together with the rest of the team, they are very driven to improve patients' outcomes and carry out research activities, audit and improvement projects on the topic. They have published more than 200 papers over the last few years.
