Dr Daniel Owens

Experience

Dr Owens works in the children’s emergency department, which sees approximately 30,000 attendances per year, and includes the regional paediatric trauma centre. The service operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week, in a dedicated children’s area, seeing unwell and injured children and young people between 0 and 18 years old.

Research

Dr Owens is the lead for research in the children's emergency department and helps to oversee research that is looking at making emergency care better for children. He also leads vaccine studies that are looking at better ways of preventing serious illnesses in children. 

Dr Owens oversees the work and training of UHS's research fellows, these are resident doctors and healthcare professionals who deliver the Trust's work class research.
