Dr Jonathan Ah-Chuen

Experience

Dr Ah-Chuen joined the Trust as a consultant clinical oncologist in September 2025, working in lung, urological and oligometastatic malignancies including SABR and has some experience in permanent seed brachytherapy. He trained in Wales for foundation training from 2016 to 2018 and in East London for internal medicine training from 2018 to 2020. He was a Wessex clinical oncology speciality trainee from 2020 to 2025, having completed his training in July 2025.

Dr Ah-Chuen plays an active role in education within the Trust having organised local and regional post graduate teaching for oncology trainees and has been part of the reshaping of the University of Southampton medical school first year curriculum. He is currently the morbidity and mortality co-lead for the department.

Honorary associated clinical teacher, University of Cardiff, 2017.

Research

Dr Ah-Chuen is actively involved in research and is on the delegation log in clinical trials at UHS. He presented outcomes of stereotactic radiotherapy to intracranial metastases for melanoma at the British Neuro Oncology Society Manchester in 2022 and presented outcomes of radiotherapy for ultra central lung malignancies at British Thoracic Oncology Group Belfast in 2024.
