Dr Mira Kharbanda

Experience

Dr Kharbanda is a clinical genetics consultant who joined the Trust in August 2016. She provides outpatient clinics across the Wessex area for adult general genetics patients.

She also works as part of multidisciplinary teams to give specialist advice to doctors with different specialties and is involved in recruiting patients to take part in research studies - a recent example of this is the 100,000 Genomes Project

Key achievements

  • Leads a local renal genetics multidisciplinary team meeting four times a year.
  • As departmental digital lead, have been involved in implementing initiatives such as video appointments and digital dictation.

Research

Dr Kharbanda has led and contributed to a number of publications relating to various genetic conditions, including CTNNB1 related neurodevelopmental disorder.
