Places of worship and quiet rooms

There are a number of places around the Trust set aside specifically for the purposes of worship or quiet space.

Services

  • Sundays 4.30pm, Mass (Roman Catholic)
  • Wednesdays 2pm Anglican Holy Communion, all welcome.
  • Fridays 1:15pm, Muslim prayers

The Wednesday Anglican communion is always recorded as audio only and replayed on hospital radio and on YouTube. (See 'Chaplaincy services online' tab)

The hospital chapel – Centre Block, D level

This is a large space open to everyone whether they have a religious faith or not. Please come here to find peace and quiet, not a place to eat lunch or chat on your phone.

The side chapel – Centre Block, D level

This adjoins the main hospital chapel. It contains a crucifix and Christian literature, and candles may be lit on a the votive stand.

Male Muslim prayer room – Centre Block, D level

This is located just outside of the main chapel. It is regularly used for prayer, with wash facilities nearby.

Female Muslim prayer room – Centre Block, D level

This is accessed through the main chapel and to the left. This is well used throughout the day.

There is a quiet room available in Princess Anne Hospital for everyone.
