Children's rheumatology
We provide services and treatments for children and young people with a range of rheumatology conditions, including juvenile arthritis, juvenile-onset lupus and other connective tissue diseases, vasculitis, autoinflammatory conditions, and uveitis.
Our children's rheumatology team is actively involved in several national research studies and clinical trials. These include studies for children receiving biologic treatments and those living with conditions such as juvenile idiopathic arthritis, lupus, and dermatomyositis.
We are committed to providing high-quality, personalised care. Our multidisciplinary team combines specialist clinical expertise, early diagnosis, and proven treatments to create care plans tailored to each child’s needs. We work closely with children and their families and offer access to the latest treatments and research opportunities.
Our goal is to control disease activity, helping children stay active, independent, and able to take part in school, social activities, and everyday life. By managing their condition effectively, we aim to minimise disability and help every child reach their full potential.
Most appointments take place in our paediatric outpatient department, where children are seen both for their first assessment and for ongoing follow-up care and review. We also run outreach clinics across the South of England in partnership with local paediatricians, making it easier for families to access specialist care closer to home.
