Closure of Romsey phlebotomy service from January 2026

We can confirm that we will be closing the Romsey Phlebotomy Service on 23 January 2026.

We understand this decision, which follows discussion with our partners in community and primary care across the area, will cause upset for residents who regularly use this service.

We are facing challenging times within the NHS and all hospitals are required to live within their financial means. As a result, difficult decisions have had to be made across all areas of our organisation.

The Community Diagnostic Centre at the Royal South Hants Hospital is a new and purpose built facility where we can offer this service to all, under one roof. The centre will operate between 8am and 6pm daily, including a Saturday service.

We will be writing to all patients affected by this closure and providing details including opening hours and access for the new service at RSH.

We are sorry and understand this will be an inconvenience to some and we thank our patients for their understanding and ongoing support.
