Caroline leads our Patient and Public Involvement activities (PPI), making sure our work is relevant, accessible and a priority for the people it affects.

Caroline leads a small team who support PPI across our research department. They work to make it easier for patients and the public to have their voices heard in research.

This includes:

  • Educating and promoting PPI to the research community

  • providing researchers expert advice and guidance about PPI

  • hosting training events

  • supporting public members to get involved

  • carrying out projects to improve the diversity of voices heard in PPI

Caroline also supervises a PhD student whose project explores the impact of PPI on health research outcomes.
