Notice of election to Council of Governors 2025

Nominations to election to University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust Council of Governors are now open until July 30.

Elections are being held for the following governor vacancies:

  • Public: Southampton City – 5 vacancies
  • Public: New Forest, Eastleigh and Test Valley – 3 vacancies
  • Public: Isle of Wight – 1 vacancy
  • Staff: Non-Clinical and Support – 1 vacancy
  • Staff: Nursing and Midwifery – 1 vacancy

Anyone in these constituencies can nominate themselves at www.cesvotes.com/southampton2025

Nominations close at 5pm on Wednesday, 30 July.

Information sessions

If you’d like to find out more then why not join one of the information sessions to learn more about the role. Sessions will be held online using Microsoft Teams on:

  • Tuesday 1 July - 1pm to 2pm
  • Monday 14 July - 2pm to 3pm

Become a member

In order to stand as a candidate and vote in our governor elections you must be a member of the Trust. Membership is free and it only takes a minute to sign up here.

To be able to vote this year you must become a member by July 30. All staff are automatically enrolled as members upon joining the Trust.

The Council of Governors advises the board of directors on the views of the membership community, comments on the development of strategic plans for the hospital and acts in a trustee role, making sure that the hospital meets its obligations.
