Launched in July 2018 as part of the GDE programme Medxnote is a user friendly messaging app for staff to use across complex working patterns. It has provided an efficient method of communication, over the use of the traditional bleep system.
Using Medxnote staff can send and receive secure messages to individuals, groups and roles. The Medxnote messaging system integrates with the Trust’s clinical systems thus improving staff efficiency.
Staff using Medxnote can receive specific patient results directly to their mobile devices. They can receive notifications of new referrals to their team and view the latest observation chart for their patients.
“Medxnote is transforming the way we communicate with colleagues across the Trust. It’s now highly efficient, targeted and safe. Our clinicians, who are always on the go and can’t always stop to log into a PC, are receiving the information they need at the first opportunity so are able to effectively prioritise their work and deliver the required care to their patients earlier”
Mike Celinski, Consultant Intensivist and clinical lead for the project
“I used Medxnote to follow a patient’s ultrasound scan result. At 8.46am, my phone beeped with the result. I promptly discharged the patient saving at least a day in hospital”
Ed Hewertson, Consultant in Medicine for older people.
