High risk patient support hub

A new service has been launched to support our most vulnerable patients during the COVID-19 pandemic.

The high risk patient support hub provides a single point of access for patients who may need extra support due to the need to isolate or shield during COVID-19.

Linking with the Royal Voluntary Service (RVS) and the national volunteering campaign, we hope this will make it easier for patients to access any community support they may need during this time. This might include help collecting shopping or picking up prescriptions, getting to appointments or a friendly chat to help pass the time.

Our volunteer call handlers will guide patients through the process of booking support from the RVS, community volunteers responders or Trust volunteer drivers.

The hub is available Monday to Friday, 10am to 4pm and can be contacted by freephone on 0800 484 0135.

Patients who are considered high risk include those over the age of 70 and those with specific medical complications. These patients will have received a letter with more information.

If you believe you qualify as a high risk patient but have not received information about accessing our support hub, please speak to your medical team and ask them to refer you to our hub team.
