Neurology

The neurology service covers all of the principal neurological conditions including movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy and neuromuscular diseases including muscular dystrophy.

Referrals

All general and some specialist clinics are available via the e-Referral service while others are reserved for tertiary referral. Neurological patients requiring inpatient investigation are admitted to the Wessex Neurological Centre here at UHS. Urgent referrals can be discussed at any time via the on-call service (call the switchboard on 023 8077 7222 and ask for the on-call neurology registrar).

Muscle and nerve service

The Wessex muscle and nerve service (WERMANS) provides specialist services in neuromuscular disease, offering diagnostic and muscle advice to patients across the region.
